How does this match up to the deontological view of Batman who puts more value in actions than effects? We side with the Dark Knight on this issue. If individuals take the wellbeing of society and execution of others into their own hands, massive bias is bound to occur. While it may be easy to want heroes like Batman to make the Thanos’s and Ras Al Ghul’s of the world disappear, we must follow in the Dark Knight’s footsteps and believe that the rule of law and good in society will prevail. While servicing the greater good may seem like the more economical thing to do, it is not the most humane or most practical.
